Meaning, Metaphor, and Myth  Klecksography by Hans Guggenheim April 28 - May 16, 2014 in The Karl Drerup Art Gallery's "Shoe Box Gallery" SAVE THE DATE for this thought provoking event!                         With a Presentation by the Artist Monday, April 28, 4-6pm Dr. Hans Guggenheim, an artist and educator, a former professor of Anthropology at MIT, will speak at Plymouth State University's Karl Drerup Art Gallery on April 28. This is the fourth and final presentations in the series by Dr. Hans Guggenheim, which has included, "War in Art: Connections and Synchronicity", "The Pale Fox Yapilou", and "Sketches are Contagious/ From Egypt with Love".   Meaning, Metaphor, and Myth:  Klecksography by Hans Guggenheim Join us as we explore how we connect to and interpret images. From the German word for ink blots, Klecksography explores the art of making images from inkblots.  This intriguing form of art making involves not only the artist, but the viewer. This exhibit will provide an opportunity for visitors and student groups to study and respond to the images, drawing on philosophical, psychological, and cultural influences.    In his presentation, artist, illustrator, anthropologist and scholar, Hans Guggenheim will share a series of "Klecksographs" he has created, inviting viewers to find characters, shapes, and meaning within the artworks.
